Rick Bourne grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, a northern suburb of Milwaukee. An Eagle Scout, and outdoor enthusiast, he most enjoyed trips and vacations to the Wisconsin rural outdoors growing up, camping, hiking, canoeing, boating, and fishing. Mr. Bourne went to Albion College in Albion, Michigan where he obtained his B.A. in Economics.
After college, Mr. Bourne attended law school at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, obtaining his JD in 1992 and MBA in 1994. He also obtained a Wisconsin real estate broker license in 1990, which he has kept current since. While in law school, Mr. Bourne interned for two summers for an Oneida County law firm in Northern Wisconsin, doing a wide variety of civil litigation.
Since law school, Mr. Bourne worked as an associate for 4 years for a civil litigation firm in Waukesha County. There he did insurance defense litigation, some trial work, and real estate, corporate, and contracts related law. In 1997 he purchased a small company, ran for 7 years and then sold it, accepting a position with his brother’s growing construction company as corporate counsel and controller.
Mr. Bourne is admitted to practice in all state courts in Wisconsin as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts. He is a member of a number of professional organizations such as the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Bar Association, The National Association of Realtors, Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the South Central Wisconsin Realtors Association. Mr. Bourne resides in Verona, Wisconsin.
His interests include alternate energy, permaculture, acquaponics, and high efficiency residential development and design.
